I just came up for air after being snowed in for the past three days... Just joking, but were are in the middle of a snow storm that has been dumping on us since last Friday. Driving within the city bis no so bad if you have snow tires or chains but the Autobahn (highways) were experiencing Staus (traffic jams) up to 30 miles in some areas.

Our Fasnet time has begun (pics later)and although it is snowing we had a great crowd on Friday nite. All our Weisen beer and food sold out. Yesterday, we participated in our first parade with 5 more to go. So were like the postman, snow cannot stop us. :)

Okay, I almost 4got...Hello to Everyone...... :D

Looking forward to the pics, Jazz. Be sure to dress warm, alcohol consumption tends to aggravate the affects of cold on the system.

Great to hear that you haven't succumbed to the weight of snow Jazzman... I've been wondering where you were. That 'Jagermeister with Tea' sounds like something I must try. Keep that shutter finger warm... :)

Peter - thanks for thinking about the Jazzmo. A lil busy wirth work, jazz music gigs and our Fasnet events. Try some and u may like it. Feeling a lil sick with a cold, fire up some lemon tea and add a shot or two of the meister..Jager that is.

Dennis - I must check with my music friend and ask her the amounts.

Jeff...a some what hard tasting liquor but in the winter I like it with tea.

Temps have warmed up and the snow is starting to melt. On one side this is good so that I can stop my daily snow shoveling  and the other side not so good as this is winter and we should be getting snow. :(

Hi Jazz,

Until recently, I would have said that the good thing about rain is that one doesn't have to shovel it. However, we are just enjoying our first break after one week of solid rain. You know that it is time to get a bit concerned when your neighbours start building an ark! Posted Image

Jazzer,

Have you forgotten about the mandatory January thaw that we get back here?? Into the 40's today, but cooling. There is a freezing rain warning for tonight.

Mark,

20's??? that was last week wasn't it????

Or you could try a "Rusty nail" OD.. 2x Glenfiddich with 1x Drambuie.. just to make a slightly bigger drink.. if it can melt nails it can warm anything :D Substitute Glenfiddich with most single malts.. x varied to suit..

All the snow in my region is almost gone..none, nada, nix, zeo, null...however my farmer/weatherman/beerdrinking buddy says more will come. Last Sat nite, we were at a Fasnet event almost 30 miles south of Stuttgart, we were playing outside when the snowfall began. I checked the weather there on Sunday and that area got 6 inches of snow, we just got rain.

Okay, my last reply to this message needs updating...we are receiving snow as I type. Five inches was dumped on us during the period 11:00 pm to 4:am this morning and all day snow has fallen. Weather forecast is for snow until Sunday. Hope the army gives its Soldiers 59 minutes so I can take 69 minutes to take my train home...Posted Image

So that's what the banging, hammering, and sawing was? I think our inflatable bed floats. So if we have any more rain, I can break out that instead.

Mu daughter was correct when she told me we would get six more weeks of winter. Snow, Snow for the past two days and is predicted thru Sunday. To make matters a lil worse, we have not received the snow storm from the USA that is supposed to me coming to Europe in a week or two.

Better pull thee snow shovel and salt back out.

I just finished shoveling about 12 inches of snow from last night. I did make sure to get up early and take a few pics of the birds at the feeders and outside around the house a little bit before the wind blew the snow off the branches:)

The Vancouver Olympic Games organizers would love it if you folks could ship some of that stuff to our mountains. The unofficial joke going around is that things are so bad they will substitute camel racing for the snow boarding events. :)

Mark, Aren't camels in short supply here? :D The IOC would have another nasty expense shipping camels over. Better to make it muddy-track horse-racing. All new slow times...because most of the horses around here aren't good mudders. :D
