Thought I would give this a shot in B&W.

Feel free to critique it.  I am not 100% I like this effort yet.

Thanks,

There's nothing to critique. It's awesome. Do you play guitar Art?

Sadly, no. I own one, mucked around a bit with it when I was in High School. My parents discouraged learning to play fearing I would end up in a band, which is exactly what I would have done.

Nice clarity, the actual term is tuning peg  ;)  I'll give you online guitar lessons in exchange for a D850  :D

I like the treatment. The peg looks really good. However, the back peg is brighter is draws the eye away. I think a Phil crop is in order here.

Thanks, Dennis.

I darkened the back and lit up the front more. Very good observation.

Art, until I saw version 2, I was going to say that I preferred the colour version, because it was brighter with more details.  However, Version 2 addresses that concern nicely.  Nice work!  :)

Still not perfect, thought.  What I want and what I got are not quite in sync yet.

Part of the learning curve.

I was experimenting with my 12 string using my 50mm f1.8. I was trying to get the 3rd set in focus but I couldn't hold the camera steady enough.

In high school I played around with a junk bass I picked up for 20usd. Being in a band is not a bad thing :) Wish I could have ended up in a band. Might have made more money and had a more exciting life if I had done that :D

You and me both!

Cory Wells, founder of 3 Dog Night, was a friend of mine.  I got a small taste of the Rock Star pixie dust at a concert I went to.  Cory used to send me tickets when the band would perform close enough for me to go.  At one show, I had my camera, rushed the stage when everyone else did... this was easy as I was in the 4th row.  I stood there for 20 minutes in complete anonymity just taking pics and enjoying the music.

In between songs, Cory saw me, said, "Hi Art!" and I was an instant celebrity with the women standing around me. Quite a rush.

On many occasions when we had dinner or drinks... I heard the stories.  Nice life, if you can be fortunate enough to get it!!

Will have to try this again.  May buy Helicon Focus, seems like a nice package.
