I have mentioned before that "shake reduction" works well in certain situation. Is this a continuation of that technology ?

I would describe it as a "focus masking tool"

Well... don't have cc.... but I would think this is more like the process used to remove the background. It is using a lot of what the selection tool and refine edge tool. Just added an "automation" that makes a mask for you. Not sure how it would work for single color backgrounds. But, for outside portraits, that will work well.
