I don't know, but why not spend a couple hundred more and get a D850?

I think the US price will be closer to $2000

Its a nice looking camera for sure but is it coming to market at the wrong time?

However, the comparison that matters isn't with the D750.   I'm sure that we all agree that the D780 is the better camera.  The comparison that matters is with the D850.  Specifically, why shouldn't someone spend a couple of hundred dollars more, for one of the best cameras on the market?   :)

The ISO and battery life on the 780 are much better

It's almost like they're stepping on their own toes, and know it. I'd keep marketing the 850, with bundles or whatever.
