I took a picture of my EDC(Everyday Carry) Taurus 856UL 38 Spl +P Revolver(yes I am a wheel gun guy) due to its matt black finish knowing it would show noise like crazy. Now I had NR set to +1 and LR applied the in camera settings. The first one is not cropped the 2nd one is a 50% crop all in all very pleased with the results.

So info

Very impressive results Jim.

Thanks Peter!

Not bad for a cropped 26mp sensor!!! It is the newest of the Cropped sensors out there and at 26 vs most at 24.

So far this camera has really impressed me! I havent been this excited about a camera since I got my D700 many years ago.

God bless all those in harms way and Go Navy!

Great results! lf l shot my D7100 or Canon M50 at 51200 the images would look like they were printed on 60 grit sandpaper.

Still shooting DX digital and don't plan on going full frame.

Here's onw taken with my Canon M50 at it's highest ISO-25600. l turned all the overhead lights off, so it's an extreme case. Should have shot another with the lights on. Maybe l'll do that tomorrow.

Key to high iso is nailing the exposure. Take that shot with better light it might do a bit better.

Here it is with the overhead light on. A little better, but l wouldn't call it usable.

Nice work, Bill.

Noise is the biggest remaining problem, and solutions are available.  LR and PS have excellent noise reduction tools.  I assume that Elements would also have a good tool.  Nik's Dfine tool is outstanding if you have it.   :)
