Often I get asked if I can do video on my photo-shoots. Yes, I know that I was an Anti-DSLR Video Guy previously but now that I have my D600 I am willing to give the D600 a try :D. I know that C*non, D800, D3 and D4s (Not knocking the other Nikon cameras) have better video capturing processes. But I will not do like several guys (Scott Kelby, Matt K) that I used to like and go buy C*non systems.

So far, I have captured 45 videos with my D600. Several are okay, lighting and colors, others are blurry. I have looked at several YouTube and other videos and the users are happy with their D600 captures.

DD has provided me with some good information concerning D600 video capture and with my new monopod I begin my venture. An open request to my PN family to provide any comments and recommendations on this PJ task.

Lights, Camera, Action.....

PJ - I also do accassional videos.

Few things to improve on are: Mic i.e. Nikon ME-1 and a video fluid head. The mic provides a stereo sound compared to mono sound and the fluid head minimizes "jerky" movement when panning left to right or vice versa.

The picture above is the Manfrotto 701HDV fluid video head but it appears that it has been discontinued already, and it has been replaced by the Manfrotto MVH500AH Fluid Video Head with Flat Base.
