Crystal and l went to my grandmother's house today and got out decorations(we store them in an extra bedroom over there). After assembling the tree and shaping the top part, l had to take a break. l have red and white LED C7's and also have mini red and white lights. Decided l wanted a touch of green, so l picked up a set of 100 mini green LED lights. l didn't like the skirts Wal Mart had, so a few years ago got some snowflakes and red felt and made the skirt.

Oops, l just remembered that the dark green cord on the green lights is going to be very noticible on the white tree. All the other light sets have white cords.

This is one yearly ritual I have never looked forward to.  My wife always goes overboard at Christmas.

We had 4 trees up in the house at one time.

I dragged in a tree this past weekend and we are letting it relax a few days.  A mountain of needles have been falling already. Next, drag in from the garage, 6 boxes of ornaments .... weeeeeeee!

We retrieved our artificial tree from the basement.  Will probably put it up by the weekend.  :)

l made a little more progress tonight. Got home from work at 2am, cooked some wonton soup, and worked on it some more. Finished shaping the branches and got 2 sets of lights on.

Haven't done much in the past few days because l've been sick, but getting better. The last set of C7 lights on the floor will go on tomorrow. Then add the tinsel and decorations. We've done a red tree, a blue tree, and a red, white, and blue tree colors in the Texas flag for our Texas Christmas one year. But this is the first time we've done red and green. l like it. l ordered a set of 25 C7 green LED bulbs on Ebay. When they arrive l can exchange some of the red and white bulbs for green while on the tree.

Good shot, Bill.

The green-lit background compliments the tree and makes the composition work.  :)

Thought l was going to finish the tree today. The green C7 LED bulbs l ordered on Ebay arrived. But they're not green, they're blue, so l will send them back for a refund. Would have paid a few dollars more and ordered from Novelty Lights, but they were out of stock on those. So tomorrow l'm going to my grandmother's house to get some incandescent green C7 bulbs that l used to put on the house when l lived there. Next summer l'll order the bulbs from Novelty well ahead of time. So l'll be ready for the holidays next year.
