Nature Depleted in Toronto! :(

14 October 2019 - 02:36 PM

I have gone out three times now to get some Heron, or Egret or something interesting .... NADA! ZIP!

Lots of people.

Lots of dogs.

Lots of dogs off leash.

Lots of people who should be leashed!

No nature.

I used to love going out at certain times of the year and predict what wildlife would be in the area and where.... that is all over thanks to construction.

I did manage these ....

Monarch Butterfly.

- starting to see more of these again, which is a good sign.  No where near the numbers as previous years when they were everywhere.

This is a moth.

A Painted Lady to be specific.

Blue Jay Images at 10-12K ISO

02 October 2019 - 01:07 AM

I took these images with the Nikon D5, on one of the times I had it for a race weekend, this past summer.

I used my 200-400mm lens on it.

I cannot believe how good they turned out.

This one below is 12500 ISO, the other two are 10000 ISO.

Nikon 200mm f2G VR Lens

25 September 2019 - 04:23 PM

I had the opportunity to try out the Nikon 200mm f2G VR lens this past weekend and, like all Nikon pro glass, I loved it.

Here are three sample images, I have more but they are mostly more race pictures.

The lens is big, a bit heavy considering it is 200mm, but it was nice to use. Hit all the key points with me, locked on focus quickly, easy to handle, produced sharp images.  Judge for yourself.

Some two wheeled Motorcycles! (VRRA HERITAGE RACE)

18 September 2019 - 08:21 PM

Some images from a past race.  These are supposed to be Heritage bikes.  Not sure what the qualifications are, as I am not familiar with this Race Association yet.

Hope to learn more this coming weekend. Booked at an out of town track.

Enjoy ...
