A small selection of images taken today.

Only sharpened and cropped.... no PP work at all.

Images taken with a Nikon D5, Nikkor 200-400mm f4G VRII,  some hand held, some on monopod.  Arms were falling off later in the day!

Great series, Art.

There is one photographer who regularly posts similar, high quality images on 500px.  Your images are even better than his.  :)

Thanks, Dennis.

HI Everyone,

Thanks for the kind words.  Greatly appreciated. What a weekend.  I haven't been this tired in ages.  I hauled around the D5, 200-400, monopod, knap-sack with my D850, 24-70, water and snacks over hill and dale in brutal heat.  And, I was traveling light.  One photographer there had more gear than you see in a camera store strapped on him including a lens the size of a football field!  I don't know how some of these guys do it.

Well, my favorite weekend of the year has come and gone yet again! Time passes too quickly.

Dennis,

How did I like the D5, you ask?

" "

I think that should sum it up nicely. WOW You want more details, ask.

Phil, thanks for the advice on ISO.  I took it to heart on Sunday, I should have listened to you earlier. Image quality improved 1000 fold, when I pushed up the ISO.  I am STILL stuck on this crazy notion of shooting at the lowest ISO possible but this is nuts for sports.

I shot some 6000+ images this weekend, hard to nail the number down exactly because I deleted on the fly as well. If they were out of focus, they went.  Had a lot of that happening.  Now the fun part, sifting through them.  I have so many killer images.  What a treat to look through them all.  I will post a few more as soon as I have them ready.

:)
