Ok P900 in Macro mode and some simple prop and setup. The first one is at ISO 800 and f5 and you can see the noise, the next two are at ISO 100 and f4 I also used  the older app as a remote shutter and a rice bag as a tripod. The dark spot in the salt shaker is the rather large front element of the P900 I might dig out my cheap ring light and try this in the light box this weekend.

This was one of those spur of the moment things not a lot of time put into it but the P900 is fun to use as Herman is finding out with his B700. When I got the P900 the B700 I think was announced but I wanted all 2000mm and to be honest the 2.8 at the wide angle vs RAW but when the P900 replacement comes out I hope to get one if Nikon doesn't go crazy and make it a 1000$.

This image is inspired by our #1 Mod... Jim.  He took something similar a long while back.  I have thought about doing something since then, but I had to get his image out of my mind, which I was quite impressed with, so I could do my own.

So, this is my first attempt.  I haven't touched my camera in some time due to simply being too busy with other things.  I may end up taking this over a few more times to get it right.

WOW, a FOSSIL of what?  Nice teeth, what ever it is!

Unfortunately, there was no explanation. Perhaps a dinosaur or some kind of reptile? It was a man made concrete boulder and it had various fossil moulds all around it (trilobite, nautilus, etc.).

Lol...the skull shape and teeth placement are wrong. I think the breed is from the 1800s; a little young for a faux fossil  :P

I tried and tried and tried just couldn't get what I wanted. I took these with my P900 in the Macro mode at ISO 800 and I used my bag as a support since for some reason I can not find my table top tripod. :(

One I need to learn and really clean the dust, using the blower a few times just doesn't cut it. Second this shows the limitations of the P900 having no raw the NR can be intrusive I would rather some noise than the smearing, waiting for the P900 replacement with RAW capability. :D

ISO 800

Macro mode range 24-75mm in 35mm Eqv

f6.3 to f8

shutter 1/6 to 1/10

I will post all the attempts in both BW and color but it is all about trying something and pushing the gear you have right gang.   B)  ;)
