This is the new train from Denver Union Station to Denver International Airport (DIA).  The line is still under construction but we are testing the trains to insure safety when the line opens sometime next year.  The train is filled with sand bags to simulate the weight of the passengers for brake testing.  We don't have a separate 'Transportation' gallery here so I picked this one for 'Industrial Photography'.

Thank you Gary, Herman, Jim and Don.

Yes testing is going well and we expect revenue service sometime next year.  I am hoping to get some more pics as we move further down the line in our testing.

I'm not a big train fan, but this is a nice series.

Looks like it's electric?  What's the top speed?

Thank you Art, Mark,

Yes they are electric trains running on 25,000 volts overhead.

While the trains are capable of much faster speeds, the operational rules give a top speed limit of 79 mph.

Pete
