That's the main lens on my camera.  I love it.

Nice shot, Art.

24-70 is a good lens length, I find.  My Tammy is the main lens on my camera also.  :)

You might want to fine tune the lens. I assume your using the D850. Assuming you focused on the pegs, the are a tad soft while the saddle is sharp.

Great Sage, you have a keen eye.

I was indeed, focused on the pegs.  And, I was wondering if it was me... missed the pegs etc.  Have to check this out.  I am still into experimenting with this camera.  Haven't quite found me grove yet.

I have to tell you though, the color depth that comes out of every image is out of this world.  This is a remarkable camera.

Yeah, I wish I had a job, I would probably get this camera. I figured it will work differently than the D800.

Thanks, Dennis.

I am cheering for you.

It is some much more different than the D800. The sensor is like nothing I have experienced before.  Better than the D5 I played with.  There is a richness and depth to it and this stunning. I just have to learn how to take full advantage of the capabilities.

Art, did you use a tripod?  For a shot like this, I put the camera on my tripod, switch to Live View, then zoom all the way in to the point where I want to focus.  Then I use manual focus.  I know that there is software that would let me do this live on my computer, but I'm too cheap to do anything except shoot tethered to Lightroom.  Might wait to see what On One/Nik comes out with later this year.  :)

Hand held, one shot.

Could be part of the problem.
