The Nikon D5 is really an amazing piece of equipment as is proving to be the really, really expensive glass in their stable!  Got to use the Nikkor 600mm f4E this weekend.  Loving it as well.

Image is of one of the racers in the Sidecar event.  These guys are nuts on a whole new level! The racers all seem older to me than the guys who ride the fast bikes. Fascinating to watch and to photograph!

Uh, yup.

However, their insanity doesn't take away from the fact that this is a very nice shot.  Well done.  :)

Moto Guzzi?

I wish I knew.  I know nothing of brands.  MG is the oldest manufacturer in Europe, I believe.  I have no idea what these bikes are.  They all look old and dangerous!  I walked through the Paddocks during the weekend and you saw them at the different booths, stripped and being worked on and the look ancient.  Tiny little things too.  How they ride them is a mystery to me.

Art, just looking at the position of the cylinders, I'm inclined to think Moto Guzzi (probably something like the 850 Le Mans).

D5 or maybe D6 plus 600mm lens .... buy ..... DIE.  (It rhymes! Fancy that)

Don't buy, stay married, keep living.

It's a tough choice!

Like everything else in life, I want too many toys and have too little money.

I will say though, the Pro gear is a pleasure to use.  However, it draws way too much attention from everyone around you. This was starting to bother me at times.  You stand out like a sore thumb.  Especially walking from point A to Point B, too many people asking what you are carrying.

My, my, the photog bug has really bitten you. Guess, if you want to go commercial, this is the route to go.

Choices, choices... May you make the best choice, Art!

Definately a Guzzi Art... a very recognisable engine layout. for and aft 90 degree V twin...shaft drive.. that engine has been around for a long time... I think the factory built v twin industrial motors for the WW2 effort and adopted the layout after the war for the bikes... pre-war they even built a v8 bike

I am tending to agree, I was hoping to get some proof but the association that runs these races is so small and getting info from the site or anyone else is really difficult.

I tried, their site is "wanting" to say the least.  I may be traveling to their home track on the 22nd.  I was invited as their guest for the closing day races and was offered a ride around the track after the races are over Saturday!

I am seriously considering going. I will get their info and the bike ID then, if I go.

I tend to agree with the consensus that it is a GUZZI.
