Hi! I am John Roach. I live in the Richmond, Virginia after many years in the Mid-west with my wife Joann and two cats. Join me on my journey through retirement and my passion for photography. I will be posting updates on making the most out of retirement, and sharing photos from many of my experiences along the way. Hopefully most of the pictures will be among my best efforts. Of course, that will be a matter of opinion, I am sure. These new experiences come on the tail of education in business and engineering, being a US Navy Veteran followed by many years in construction & facility management. I am the member of two local camera clubs, the Photographic Society of America, www.betterphoto.com, and active at www.nikonians.org which is an online community of Nikon Camera lovers. I use Nikon DSLRs and Z6 also am an avid Fuji X100, X-E1, X-T1, X-Pro2 and X-H1 user for street photography and travel. I have learned many things about this great art and craft through those memberships. My interests include landscape, seascape, architecture, floral, macro, and wildlife images. My website and blog includes information about my travels and occasionally be spiced with comments about history and literature during my "painting with light" adventures.
