Film: F100, N90s, F3 Digital: D70 Future: D200 or D2X though I'm likely not going to buy anything until I master that D70 (see below) If I can ever get past the AF problems I've had with the D70, I'd say it's the digital successor to the N6006, which is, IMNSHO, the best consumer grade AF film camera Nikon ever put out. Don ------------------ This Field Photographer's Philosophy: ALWAYS have a backup camera!! Keep a little tripod and a beanbag in your trunk, just in case. If you can't use what you like, use what you got. Master the camera that's in your hand now -- load it up and Just Shoot It!! It's the shot that counts... A shot on grocery store print film is better than no shot at all. A P&S fully exploited is a better tool than a $10k SLR that's a mystery to you. Film is cheap and card space is cheaper -- make sure you have enough of whichever you use!! I like to carry an F3 with an ISO 400 film load and a 50mm f/1.8 lens just to keep my skills sharp. That way, pretty much no matter what camera I get my hands on, I can revert it to "1980 mode" and get the shot. Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don
==========================================================
Digital: D610 backed up by a D1x.  Quoted from an unknown source by a fellow planeteer, "Never get rid of a working D1x." I've got to agree.

Film: N90s, F3, F100, F4s, C330s. A few lenses.

Why film photography? I like shooting with the equipment. 6x6 Velvia slides from a C330 have an appeal all their own.

Why automated 35mm/Digital cameras? Event photography is about capturing moments. It often requires quick response. Well done automaton can be your friend or your enemy. It all depends on knowing what it can and can't do. "A man's got to know his (camera's) limitations." paraphrasing Dirty Harry...

Now that we have a bit over 400 users I think it would be neat to see the demographics of the bodies being used. Nothing more than total curiousity on my part.... B)

So what is the main body you use. Some of you have more than one but just vote once for the main body you use.

I'll come back to do some totals in a few days/weeks.

Feel free to add any comments replies as well.......

I use the D200 also. Great camera. Have not been around for awhile as have been busy and also for some reason my link to the forum stopped connecting.. Might have been a Canon Virus.. LOL

Great to be back

Because I just got the D2x and have so much to learn I answered D70 in the poll since that has been my mainstay for awhile.

I Love my D200, it's so much fun to shoot with this body, it just feels right. I still like my D70, what a great camera. Man I love my D200! Some day I'll own a Pro body like the D2Xs or the D2Hs, for now I've got my hands full. I think the next big purchase will be a 28-70 f/2.8 or the 17-55 DX f/2.8 Did I say I LOVE my D200? Frosty

Interesting on how this has continued...... I've checked in only from time to time but the demographics has it's own ebb and flow. Anyway....... keep those votes coming!

I am not quite sure how to do the mechanics of this. Are there button to be pushed? At any rate, my main camera is a D200. When I do film, an F4.

And... the overwhelming winner is the D200! (The total D series body count is strangely an exact equal to the D200 count but comprised of multiple camera body models).

Viva la D200!

Remember... before there was a D2X, the D1X put the "X" in Nikon Digital. Was there ever a Nikon D2? Nope! I can say I belong to this exclusive group...XXX Is there an X for the D 50? D 200? You even acknowlege that when they come out with the Nikon D3..., it will have an X! And of corse I have the only vote for the D1X, the first digital X. XXX for exclusive!

I have a Nikon Coolpix S3600 that I bought on August 27th at Walmart. My mom had a Nikon and she really liked it. I got mine based on that as well as the fact that the Walmart photo center also uses it! That says something, IMO. I've taken a bunch of pics and am just astounded with the quality of the photos!

If you had a poll that went from the Nikon I through to the D810, I would have to skip the first button, the last one,  and then some at the end.

No Nikon rangefinders or "E" series DSLR's in the poll...

Nikkor-SC 5cm F1.5. And maybe 100 or so other Nikkor lenses. Maybe 60 of those are on Nikon cameras right now.
