The moon...with no teleconverter

After more than 10 days of overcast skies, l finally get to shoot the moon with the Tamron 150-600. I've never had lens that goes to 600mm. Always used TC's when photographing it. You can tell it's not quite a full moon by the detail on the right side. 1/1250 f/8, ISO 200, D7100, WB set to cloudy to warm it up a bit, tripod. I want to get a shot of it when it's a crescent.
