British Columbia fires causes heavy smoke in the mountain areas and further east, making for dull images.

Very nice shot, Paul.

When it comes to the smoke, you wouldn't believe how bad it is in BC.  While Metro Vancouver just re-posted it's Air Quality Advisory, I think we are fortunate, compare to many other BC communities.  Here's a link to a CBC update:

Its very sad. Hope there will be some rain in the forecast. Apparently some of the smoke may make its way to Ireland. Mother nature just told us who is the boss.  I wish we would not take this planet for granted.

That’s a very nice image, Paul. It looks like a foggy day. Certainly puts what’s happening into perspective.

Hope you guys get some rain to knock all this down.

Thanks Art. Now remember this is Lake Louise still in Alberta, The fires are in BC so that shows how far and thick the smoke travels. Most days we were there could not even see the mountains, plus the smoke smell after a week of vacation really got to me.

Nice one.

Smoke travels a lot. We have smoke from CA, and our smoke, plus CA, moves on to NY.

Thanks, Dennis.

Quick update:  air quality in Metro Vancouver has significantly improved; no info on rest of province.  Cooler weather has helped, but we're nowhere near being "out of the woods".
