One thing I noticed is how fast of a shutter speed you need at f1.8, I think the best ones were around f10. It was 80 degrees with no humidity and very few clouds.

I also could have used that exterior flash, lots of shadows on the faces

I like the natural color the 50mm f1.8 gives me indoors, these were at 1/60 sec.

It seemed more difficult than usual to get a sharp focus with the 50mm f1.8
