Had an idea last night that I just had to try today.
Instead of buying film to put in a camera, why not put in paper, develop it, then scan & invert the image?
So this afternoon I cut up some Ilford MG to fit into the Kodak 3A, and taped it in place.
The result: A 'paper' negative!
A quick scan & crop nets a positive image:
Not something I'd do every day, but a fun little experiment! Plus, the paper can be handled with a safelight instead of total darkness.

Who needs film?

You can also find the self contained camera/darkrooms through out India, the middle east, Turkey and I believe south eastern Europe.
some more elaborate than others.

I used to put paper in home made pinhole cameras, dev it then contact print it to another sheet - worked like a dream. Ilford put their name on the back of the their paper which was a nuisance but i worked at Jessops at the time and theirs was plain and much cheaper.

Now that Ilford is making Direct Positive paper again, I may spring for a box of it just for fun.

That is a cool process!
Gary, I DO NOT MISS darkrooms. I worked at night doing custom B&W work for local store. I had my fill of that. I had one in my house too. Wife put her foot down, on my neck, 8-) and said, "No more darkrooms in the house." LOL
