I've been reading and learning for awhile now. I finally decided to join. I'm not a big poster, which considering my looks is a good thing, and am more of a reader. I started off with a 110 instamatic that I still have. Then on to a Pentax ME while in the army. That served me in a part-time job as a reporter while in college. Then in law enforcement I got out of photography since marriage cost too much to allow any hobbies. A friend gifted me her father's complete Nikon set up. I foolishly sold those wonderful manual lenses and cameras to KEH and bought canon. Then divorce cost me the canons. So I scrounged the cash for a Minolta s414 point and shoot and my first digital venture.
Now that I'm semi-retired and starting a part-time job as a reporter I decided to get back to Nikon. My signature has what I can afford to start with.
I'll probably have some questions as I'm not a good photographer. The photo for my profile is one of the first shots with my new OLD D2h. That little squirrel didn't want it's picture taken I guess. Note the left front paw, I think it flipped me the bird!
Anyway, thanks for the advice many of you gave me by your posts in response to other threads. I read those before deciding to go with two old D2 series and better lenses. I think your advice has already helped with the gear... now if you could just teach me how to compose those truly good photos I see posted here.
