Through the crystal ball BC Ferries Queen of Alberni arrives at the Duke Point terminal.

Ferries are the lifeblood of Island life.  We have a love/hate relationship with them but no one will argue that deep down we love the vessels both old and new.

This is one of the older vessels in the fleet.

Taken from the end of Jack Point in Biggs Park, Nanaimo.

Gordon, when I saw the title of your post, I had wondered how you were going to give a fresh perspective to a ship that is just one step above a "rust bucket"?  A tip of the hat to you, Sir.  You knocked it out of the park!  Very well done!  :)

Okay, did you really use a crystal ball?  I would love to know how you took this shot.  ;)

Ha!  Thanks!

Yes, it really is a crystal ball.  The image is inverted as it should be when an image is viewed through a single lens.

I will often rotate the image inside the ball to make it look better.

That doesn't always work as it did not in this image because part of the ball is hidden by the driftwood.
