Very nice, guess we will be hearing about this any day now on this side of the pond!

#264735 Planet Music

Very cool, will give it a listen. I jumped on board of the Floyd bandwagon with DSotM and played the grooves off The Wall. But lost interest after than. They were a little too progressive/psychedelic for my tastes and as they drifted more in the direction, the less interest I had.

That is so impressive, Herman!

I love the 747 you posted for Mark.

Take it from the Edmonton Airport and do a fly by over Toronto! ;)

Do a circuit around the CN Tower in downtown Toronto. This is a very impressive program!

I am a big fan of B&W as well.  Much prefer it for dramatic subjects.

#264720 Moon and Mars pics

That is so cool.  Hoping to have a cloud free night in the next few days. This is when Mars will be the closest.  Well done!

Very impressive, Herman.  I just showed off your cockpit to my wife who is equally impressed.

Question:

You mention you saw the desert from 37,000 feet.

How low can you go?

What details can you see?

Curious.

#264621 Sand Sculptures - Theme WW2

Posted by Art on 04 September 2020 - 11:14 AM

That is an amazing display, thanks for sharing that, Herman.

Mark,

For long lasting sand sculptures you need quarry sand. You can look up there formula, there is a mix that makes it bond and weather better.  Regardless, they don't last forever in the elements (unless they are perhaps treated with a special coating of some sort).

Very nice, Bill, you made good use of the opportunity.

#264519 Nikon Z5 vs Z6

Posted by Art on 13 August 2020 - 10:30 PM

Thanks, Herman. A good read.

Nicely done little camera.  Looks like they are going for the more serious entry level Amateur photographer.

One very important thing I am not impressed with .... 4.5 fps.  Way too slow for my needs.  Looked good until I read that.

Oh well, still looking for a compelling reason to jump into mirrorless... haven't found it yet.

#264464 Ominous Clouds

Posted by Art on 28 June 2020 - 10:55 AM

Seems to be everywhere.  We are in a bit of a heat wave but it is funny weather.  Sometimes boiling hot, then a beautiful cool breeze.

Sometimes humid, then lifted by a cool breeze or some rain.  Or, brutal humidity.  All in the last 30 days.  Regardless, I will take this over snow!

;)

#264445 A Day [weekend] at the Races! [WARNING: VERY IMAGE HEAVY]

Posted by Art on 19 June 2020 - 09:04 PM

Thanks, everyone.  Herman, there is a grass landing strip right next to the runway that is part of the track!!

So get this .... if they guy has to land .... this is a small airport for these private planes .... he can land WHILE the race is on, on the grass strip NEXT TO the track!!!

Never seen anything like it.  It has been line this for YEARS! No issues. Part of the agreement with the town is that they can land planes there!!!!

I guessss!!!
