Okay, I see that Peter has posted some stuff that is a bit older.  Good, because I don't think I'll be going anywhere near an airplane in the near future.

This is from Sept. 2015, one of my first outings with the D810.  A bit unusual, but that is the nose of a DC-9, sticking out of a building.

Somebody at the Canadian Museum of Flight has a great sense of humour.  I think we're going to have to make a return trip this year.

Thanks of looking everyone.  :)

Army Corps Canal patrol boat stopping traffic so the dinner train can cross over. I wish I brought the 18-55 but I went down there for boats so I only brought the Tamron 70-300, this zoom lens definitely lacks quality.

Lea, do they stop vessel traffic every time that a train uses the bridge; or is that just because of what appears to be high water levels?

In Metro Vancouver, we have one main rail line that crosses Burrard Inlet, plus a rail crossing over the Fraser River.  If they stopped vessel traffic every time that a train used one of those bridges, Port of Vancouver commercial operations would quickly grind to a halt.  <_<

Small boats will probably fit underneath but I don't think they allow it. Non powered boats are not permitted, and I personally wouldn't transit the canal in a boat smaller than 20 feet long. It gets VERY choppy sometimes with un ending rip currents.

TTC - "The Better Way"

This is our public transit system. This is a westbound train entering Old Mill Station. There's only a few TTC stations where the tracks are not underground and exposed in the city. Old Mill probably has the most beautiful backdrop.

The Humber River/Humber Recreational Trail is in the background.

Some stuff over the past week.

1. Toronto Police Rescue Boat on Lake Ontario.

2. Vintage Toronto Police cars on University Ave. (the yellow cars started to be replace by white ones in '86).

3. Unique red van in the parking lot of Étienne Brûlé Park. I thought the van was empty but it was full of Jamaicans who started cussing me in patois for photographing their vehicle.

4. Toronto Police Mounted Unit in front of Queens Park; the Clydesdale (L) is named Blue Jay, the Andalusian ® is named Vimy Ridge (the shots that weren't crooked didn't turn out).

5. Automobile graveyard...

Very impressive, Herman.  What's the service like, today?  :)

Fast & reliable service. At some point they had major issues with the onboard airco system which eventually got resolved. I was invited for a trial run at the time that the track was extended all the way to Frankfurt HBF (via Cologne). Haven't travelled with the service since...

:)

Equipment: D810 | D300 | D50 and some lenses.

A vintage Dodge truck at Dwight Garden Centre in Dwight, Ontario. I meant to check out the year and model but got sidetracked by all the knick knacks, plants, etc. in the place.
