Taken with my iPad Air II on an overcast New Years Day from the condo. Shown is Garrison Channel in downtown Tampa, FL. To the right is a Carnival cruise ship ready to take on a load of fun-seekers for a cruise of the Caribbean. Wonder how it gets under the bridge?

Thanks guys, I love taking photos with the iPad. They are all pretty noisy compared to the D800E, but I enjoy having the large format. Herman, what you can't see in the image is that the channel turns sharply to the right and goes around Harbour Island to Tampa Bay, Then on about 30 miles to the Gulf of Mexico.

My old iPad's images are average, the wife's 5s takes really good images,

Your image is really good

Not a platform where you would want to drop a D800E in any case!

I see you have a place for me to moor my boat as well!

Gary, i've had some close calls with the D3X and D800 on the balcony before. It is very windy. My 24-70 almost rolled off table once a few years back. Put a lump in my throat.

Oops! That would not be good, plus, a D3x on top of someones head could prove expensive

I was wondering if the obvious lean on the taller buildings in the shot is typical of an image taken with an ipad.

I've never used one.......Scotty.

It is Scotty. In another of these shots that I posted shooting south, I corrected the column closest to the camera. There is a good bit of distortion. I'm going to try to correct this one to see how it looks.

Here it is Scotty after I did a little bit of lens distortion adjustment in LR. The images taken with the iPad are pretty noisy. This was a dark and cloudy day, so that probably added to the noise. You can look at the original image posted and see how much of the image was lost in the adjustment.

I think I would feel more secure with a DSLR on a strap around my neck and held close to my face than a tablet extended at arms length when standing on a windy balcony.

You're right Gary, My DSLRs were always on a tripod here, but it still gives me a funny feeling whenever I put the tripod near the railing.
