Has this been done?

If it has I'll pull it or combine it.

If you use Lightroom and if you use presets (PJ especially this means you kidder) what ones do you use and what are your favourites.

Might just be useful to have a list in one spot for reference.

Matt K's HDR

Many of the BW presets

I also like the portrait sharpening presets I got on Matt K's website.

Hmm... I have some "settings" that I have been experimenting with. It uses the color luminescence to set a color base and then converts. Think, building a type of film base, like, what would velvia with it favor for green look like in B&W. It will take me a bit to turn them into a preset as, instead of righting these down on a computer, I wrote on paper. You think, someone that has disaster recovery specialist would know better. Anyway, gives me a chance to turn some of my poop  settings into a preset. But in the mean time; here is one really good set of presets for astro, milky way, static star fields that I have been using.

http://www.davidking...ghtroom-presets

I have used it to tweak night time shots as well, so you can use them for other things, like this one;

Attached File  _DS48689-Edit-1.jpg   145.27KB   0 downloads

PS: I pinned this so it will stay at the top, and moved it to the lightroom boards. Good resource we can keep adding to. Thanks for thinking of this Robin.

Thanks, Dennis.

Till now I don't think I knew LR had preset, or maybe I did but I never use them. I have in other programs like topaz adjust. Maybe I'll have to give a try one day.

So Matt K is popular - I have downloaded his HDR presets along with a few OnOne ones (snigger) but I'd love to see this grow and find out what else is available.

Good question - you would need to 'hits' the file somewhere like DropBox or GoogleDrive and post a link to it. I'll have a go tonight to see how feasible it is.

New to this LR thing

The way things are panning out, if I get a look I like, I save it as a preset, FWIW, I have deleted most and will eventually settle for a change to the default settings in the develop module that better suits the Nikon

Other than that I've been using the Nikon Picture Control options in the Camera calibration section of the Develop module

Doesn't work for every image but I'm now getting a "feel" for what is going to work and what will not. if not the Adobe ACR 4.6 is a good start for me

Lastly, I've tried a lot of download presets and found one size doesn't fit all in regard to images

My current workflow is to try the picture control option in the "camera calibration" in the develop module,

if it  does not "do it" for me, I just edit one to my liking and use the sync option to fix the rest, (now and again, I need a slight adjustment but not often)

IMHO, this gives a personal touch rather than somebody else's "look"

.......Gary

- I have a photographic memory but never got it developed -
