Another good series, Herman.

However, I see that the First Officer is still missing.  Given Aeroflot's record, over the years, this time he was probably passed out in the washroom.  <_<

Digital: D610 backed up by a D1x.  Quoted from an unknown source by a fellow planeteer, "Never get rid of a working D1x." I've got to agree.

Film: N90s, F3, F100, F4s, C330s. A few lenses.

Why film photography? I like shooting with the equipment. 6x6 Velvia slides from a C330 have an appeal all their own.

Why automated 35mm/Digital cameras? Event photography is about capturing moments. It often requires quick response. Well done automaton can be your friend or your enemy. It all depends on knowing what it can and can't do. "A man's got to know his (camera's) limitations." paraphrasing Dirty Harry...

Thank you, Don! I find it especially very relaxing during the current COVID-19 crisis.

Next series will involve an Air Canada A321 flight from San Fransisco (KSFO) to Vancouver (CYVR).

Flight AC561 now boarding...😉

Cheers - Herman😀

Hi Herman,

I'm enjoying my morning coffee while I read this.  :D

Having flown that route (on Rouge, an Air Canada subsidiary), I can say that I'm very impressed with the realism.  One small detail:  Air Canada FO's don't cower in the washroom - they read the hockey scores from the night before!

Kelowna here we come!

I thought, whilst being in Canada, why not do a short domestic flight from Vancouver to Kelowna (also in BC Province).

Unfortunately, conditions were very cloudy which resulted in me flying much lower so as to provide some views at the very least.

Flight time was just under an hour due to the slight detour from the pre-defined flightpath.

Our flightplan

At this stage we continue our gradual climb to our cruising altitude of 25,000ft (FL250)

Some time after flying at 25,000ft (FL250), I decided to start an early descent so as to try and get some views of the landscape below

We eventually get to the Okanagan Lake where Kelowna is situated on the eastern shore

We follow the lake in a southerly direction until we are in the Okanagan Valley and then having flown past our airport we do a 180 degree turn

Nice flight, Herman, but snow in Vancouver?  That must have been the one day in January 2020 when it did snow!

As for Kelowna, while Big White Ski Resort is close to town, Kelowna is more of a summer resort town.  If you ever get a chance to visit, the local vineyards have an international reputation and are well worth visiting.  :)

Thanks, Mark. The airport developers have created standard winter scenery overlays for their products (airport & surroundings) subject to geographical location and these have been associated with particular months of the year.

The weather environmental programs used are, however, offering "near realtime" weather conditions which in my case is updated every 5 minutes.

Mark, at least you have the option to throw "virtual" snowballs whilst snow is shown for the Vancouver area! 😁

A short flight from Stockholm, Arlanda Airport en-route to Kiruna in northern Sweden.

All checklists and flightplan settings had been inserted so as to shorten the video.

It starts at the time of pushback from Gate 10. Unfortunately, my PC encountered a CTD just into approximately 32 minutes of flight. ;)

Thought I'd share it anyway s I haven'tbeen posting much lately... I intend to repeat the full flight at another time.

Thanks for looking.

Great images there, Peter!

I flew to and via Zurich several times. Experienced the most turbulant flight ever on an approach into Zurich with a SWISS Bae146 but... got my feet back safely on the ground!
