I just recently purchased a 5 Light Holder and got some 1500 lm bulbs.  I was going to experiment with these tonight but the subjects are not right and I am still getting to know them.

So, I broke out the flashes, umbrella and light box.

Some samples from some much needed photography therapy!

They are all exposed pretty good. Well done.

The first, I'm not sure I like the angle, looking down doesn't make it special for me for some reason.

Also, what F stop? I think the monopoly image needs to be focus stacked. As I think, the monoply box needs to be sharp and is soft. It seems to be the mian subject, with the rest supportive. Same with the gold box.

Just my humble opinion.

Thanks, Dennis.

Art, I'm curious about the surface that you used, because I can see a slight reflection.  Acrylic?  I bought a sheet of Acrylic from Rona last Fall, but it was unusable.  It wanted to curl, no matter how small a size that I cut it to.  The consolation is that this particular mistake was less than $10.

Mark,

Mine too!

Dennis,

I tried this angle as an experiment.  I don't mind it, it can work in some instances.  Critique noted and appreciated.

I should have shot the Monopoly image more.  I didn't want the box in focus, I wanted it much less focused, just a hint of what the game parts are.  I should have opened up the f stop more. The inside parts are what I was focusing on.  But again, appreciate the feedback.

The gold box was shot at f14!  Macro has very shallow depth of field, maybe should have used another lens than the macro.

I did use the STAR FILTER in camera for that reflection.  COOL feature!

Please note, these are posted for discussion.  I am happy to hear all opinions as I am just playing with my gear and practicing.

The backgrounds here are not 100% to my liking!  Still working on this.

I purchased a hard sheet of acrylic, like plexiglass. Clear. I then put whatever color paper under it. Works great, doesn't curl. I usually use black or white foam core with the glass on top. I also have plexiglass, works too.

Thanks, Dennis.

Mark,

I have these large sheets of glossy paper.  They are not ideal but they roll up nice and they are white, of sorts. I am not crazy about them but it is all I currently have. They were not purchased in a store, it is the left overs from a Press based, professional print job I did years ago.  I saved the left overs for this use.  I have quite a few.  I also have linen, I bought a mattress set... queen size. They were on sale, good deal. Will experiment with them too.

I like what Dennis suggested.
