She has had a mechanically-plagued season this year, after switching to a new Corvette body last year. She was the series winner the previous 2 years, having won 8 races in the 2015 season. She was running 2nd in this race with 2 laps to go when the was hit by another car. She finished the race with a badly damaged car, and still managed to get a podium finish in 3rd place. This shot was taken from the bed of a pickup truck and it shows the steep bank of the turns at Daytona, as it appears to be an overhead shot. This was shot at the relatively low shutter speed of 250th of a second in order to capture the blurring of the wheels thus adding the appearance of motion to the speeding car, which was traveling at approximately 160-170 mph at this point. It as a cloudy heavily overcast day.
