#233857 Wind Farm and Train, Mojave, California

Posted by Pete on 15 January 2017 - 01:19 PM

Have not posted in a while as my work is keeping me busy.  Been working in San Jose on a project.  I know you all in Colorado have been having some cold snowy weather...   Anyway, here is one from my trip back to San Jose.

Wind Farm and Train in Mojave, California

Nikon Df,  the exif says 105 2.5 but I think I quickly changed to my Nikkor S 50 1.4 without setting the camera.

Now I know what happened to all my shirts...

#227550 Anyone know anything about this older Nikkor Lens?

Posted by Pete on 30 August 2016 - 08:22 PM

The Nikkor Q 135 is quite good even on digital.  Just make sure you have it AI modified before you mount it on a higher Nikon camera or you will damage the AI tab.  Your D3300 does not have an AI tab so you can mount it without damage.  You can use it on you D3300, you will just need to figure out how to meter for it.   It was built late 60s early 70s.  After 71 it would have been an AI lens.   I have the older 3.5 version converted to AI and I use it quite often.

Sounds like she could be related to that other rat, Martin Shkreli...

May they both rot in jail!

I was going to compare her (Heather Bresch) to Bernie Madoff but then Bernie did not risk peoples lives.

So how about this?   Since Heather Bresch has moved the corporation overseas to avoid US taxes, shouldn't she also avoid the protection of US patents?  Maybe we can have the US patents released so that other companies can make the product.  Not just the Epipen, but all patents owned by her company.

I hope they charge Heather Bresch and put her in jail.

#227127 2017 Solar eclipse.

Maybe Monday as I will be off.   I have an app so I can look for the right location.

There are actually lots of things to visit in the area; Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer's Last Stand, Sturgis, Devil's Tower and more.   Fortunately Sturgis is earlier in the month and I don't think you will have any problem getting a place to stay.

Thank you, Jim, Charles, Dennis, Arlon

It was just an overnight trip for us.  Did not have time to do the ride but I do want to.  I am actually closer to the Cumbres & Toltec and will probably do that ride soon.   We have another one too, the Georgetown Loop RR and we did that last year.

An evening out in Boulder and I took my Df w/ 105 2.5 & Sankor 16D Anamorphic lens.

Think 'CinemaScope' and 'PanaVision'.

Thank you Art, Jim, Dennis

It was fun.  Too bad you missed it Dennis.  I guess it must be in your back yard?  I added a few more pics.

#216550 Wollensak Verito Soft Focus

Posted by Pete on 27 February 2016 - 05:34 PM

I have adapted a Wollensak Verito soft focus lens to my Df using the Nikon bellows.   I have not done much with soft focus so this is new to me.  Processed in Alien Skin Exposure 8.
