Had my Nikon P900 out and took a few Moon shots.

That camera's zoom is indeed amazing! 

 

Bettie wants me to purchase one for our forthcoming trip to South Africa early next year. Hoping a P910 /950 hits the market prior to departure.

Unfortunately, just way too risky taking my regular gear along.

Something tells me that you're more worried about airport baggage handlers than wildlife encounters.  Am I right?  If so, then I know what you mean.  I really wouldn't want to bring anything that I can't take as carry-on baggage.  :unsure:
