A more precise definition of "lifestyle" might help. This would imply to me shots of people doing things (surfing, skiiing, knitting...)

Hi all,
Firstly I would like to say thank you to Digital Darrell for inviting me to join and for allowing me to promote my site and try to recruit photographers.

http://www.raw-stock-images.co.uk

RSI is a brand new stock site. The site is meant to be simple to use with easy navigation and uploading of files. RSI is a limited site for contributors; this is so that we can keep competition low for contributors and for their images not to get swamped in the not so good images. Through our market research we realised that designers were very frustrated with micro stock agencies allowing keywords and non relevant images in there searches. To answer their problems RSI actively check keywords for relevancy and keyword stuffing, coupled with a drill down search of images. This approach keeps the images relevant to searches. RSI have received great feedback on our search system. To keep your account active on RSI you must upload at least 1 image per month. This will mean that we only have serious photographers on site. There is no disk space limits as we expect every image in the database to pay for its self.

Whilst we have some great photographers on site we are lacking in lifestyle images, this would include people in situation, in action, at work at play, People exchanging money, shaking hands, ect. We have a market for such images.
Of course we do want other images still life and objects are also low in our image library.

We welcome professional and armature photographers.
So if you are or would like to be a stock photographer please visit the site sign up and upload an image with exif data.( I.e. donít save for web out of Photoshop). You will get approval the same day.

Thanks for reading this post. :)

Thanks for the heads up Darrell and Richard. I have signed up and already been accepted :) I have done fairly well at Shutterstock since joining there in late August, so I am hoping that RSI will be as successful. Cheers Tim

Since this post We have received some great sign ups from the site with some excellent images uploaded. I greatly appreciate your support. You have some truly capable photographers on this site. Your members have given some great feedback of how the site should be improved for user experience which is invaluable and we are implementing the slight changes they have asked for. RSI is a new site and all feedback is welcome. Thank you Digital Darrell and your members for allowing me this opportunity to enhance RSI...

Just submit. He is asking for photographers. His site is new, and does not have a lot of traffic yet, but will improve over time. A few of our other members sell there too.

Just plain images, take a look at the submission guidelines on the site, all the information you need is there.

Richard, I just joined your site...see DigitalDarrell. I was going to submit images, but I saw the limit of 10MB in size. Since I use a Nikon D2X 12.2 megapixel camera, many if not most, of my detailed images are about 12-13 MB in large Excellent JPEGs. The only way I can get the file size down to your standards is to compress them and cause artifacts, rresolution, and color loss. How can you limit the file size to such a small size? I cannot recompress all the hundreds of images I have already prepared for submission. Too much work! Guess it's time to buy another Nikon D50!

Hi all Firstly the site was down for a server upgrade i kept all members informed and the upgrade is finished just doing some ironing out of bugs caused by new directories etc. Nothing serious. The upgrade was a headache though.
Your not the first person to ask about file size it was set at 10 meg because i believed that was all that was needed. I will set this to 20meg today. But i would consider using ftp upload for such large images its no faster just a lot more reliable.

Hope to see all your images soon and thank you all for your interest..

Hi all, Can anyone who specializes in a hobby and photography please contact me. I can't say to much on a forum because what we have in mind is very much under our hat at the moment. Any hobbies will do and we will let You know if your hobby fits in with our plans. To find out more about this new opportunity that will take stock imagery to another level please contact me. Your work must be of a high standard for this new project but more importantly you must understand your hobby or interest. Sorry if i sound vague... I'm sure you understand

Hi Darrell, Even though i tick the magic box for replies by email i don't seem to get them. Am i doing something wrong here... Also i received an email saying that you had a new membership fee of $10 per year. This changed to a donation. Trouble is i can't find the donation page. Would it be in membership... This forum has helped me in my quest and i don't mind donating at all. I am a member of a couple of other photography forums and the normal charge for membership runs at $10 or £10 GBP per year if you want to upload images and have them critique by other members which can be invaluable and rewarding. New members to photography and forums look to resources such as Planet Nikon to help them on there way. Which reminds me I'm not a pro photographer and always need help with my photography the lad next door want some images of his brand new car i said i would go out with him and we will see what we can get and i can use them on the site. What im thinking is detailed shots not the car as a whole or maybe shooting the car as it travels down a road only including the white lines and the wheels of the car. Any other ideas would be welcome i would like to get the wow factor into the images... Thanks for your help
