Arrived today, cautiously optimistic :)

I had to sell my VR version and this appears to be an affordable option.

Ebay Japan advertised as "Mint" for $325 Canadian shipped.  And it slipped through customs, he, he..

First shot hand held in very dim artificial light, iso 1000, f/3, 1/25" on a D7200.  Hmmm, wonder why wide open shows f/3 ?

I'm a little shaky but this should do the trick with better technique...

Varis...

What "slipped through customs", the lens or the cat?  Sorry, I couldn't resist.

All joking aside, congrats, Don.  Given the shutter speed in the info you provided, I'm not surprised at the shake.  Still, not bad, for 1/25 sec.  :)

Nice kitty picture. When you get into close up and macro, the effective max aperture of a lens gets smaller. Looks like you were focused pretty close-too close for a max aperture of 2.8. l used to have the 60 Micro AF-D that did that. At distance the max was f/2.8. But at 1:1 it was f/5.
