I have  Sandisk 16gb Extreme Pro CF card that upon transferring images from it to the computer I find it still has  a few images left on it. Even though I have told the camera to delete images once moved.

Anyone know what it taking place here?

I even synced the camera again, and told it move this images left. Well View NX2  decided to tell me that it wouldn't do so because there are no new images to transfer..lol!!

Agree, if photos have been transferred then simply apply an in-camera format.

I would format as well, which I do after every time I remove my photos from the media card.

As said, format the card in your camera. The images could be in a separate folder or even outside of a folder so the camera does see them to delete in the usual way.

Has this card ever been used outside of the camera? Does it have "hidden files" on it?

What happens when you put the card in the computer directly, or using a USB reader? Do you see the images in preview, are they already on the computer? If they are complete, not corrupt, and you don't have them already- transfer them and then format the card in the camera.

Nikkor-SC 5cm F1.5. And maybe 100 or so other Nikkor lenses. Maybe 60 of those are on Nikon cameras right now.

All images were transfered. I ran a double check as stated earlier, and then reformatted the card. Funny that it seems to not purge what looks to be 17-25 (random number) images after the transfer is complete. Thanks for the insight..

Hey Donna, I have pretty much opted to reformat, but dont understand why this card retains image when the camera is told to remove them once the transfer is done. Although it's not many images it still bugs me tht it has happen twice. Thanks you much

Hi BP, No separate folders. Card was formatted before it was ever used in-camera. Therr were 900+ images tht I shot on Sunday's championship game. All were in the same place. Whatever I shoot in a day is transferred before another job is saved to the card. I appreciate your input

Heeyy, Card has been triple formatted in camera prior to using. No hidden directories or files exist. I have no idea what take place with an external reader. Have not tried tht option since I'm trying to solve the leftovers problem I see now. Thank much

Greg, just a wild thought...

Could it not be that an accidental camera image protect mode has been applied to those photos remaining on the card?
