Hi Guys, Just bought the wife a new Epson XP-850 to replace her old HP She does not use a printer for serious prints but does print the odd image of her quilts I have loaded and checked all the software but all colour prints are unusable I removed the old printer out of the system just to be sure She is using windose vista, (32 bit) This printer is driving me crazy, just cannot work out what the problem is? Any ideas? Regards, Gary

What paper are you using? Epson like many modern printers use a very heavy ink load and not all papers are suitable.

Thank you BP,
HP glossy, will get some Epson paper for testing when I get the printer up and running again
As you may have guessed, I'm "technology challenged", (too old :) ), so takes a while to sort these things out quickly, I somehow do not have trouble with editing images but there is less computing skill required

The colours are that far "off the wall", its not just the paper, I know what you are saying about the paper but these are really strange looking images,
Still waiting for a reply from Epson support
Doing a complete re-install today, just in case I have missed a step

Will give a heads-up on the solution if I sort the problem out
Appreciate your reply
Regards,
Gary

Some heads-up Problem solved! (I hope) Re-loaded the software once again, all fixed! Prints look like they should, What happened during the last 2 re-instals? I have no idea? FWIW, I loaded ViewNX2 on the wife's system, ViewNX2 works a treat for printing, Never used it before Thank you for all your prompts and suggestions, all helps me think about other options which I'm sure got me there in the end, Regards, Gary
