Most of you heard the story this summer how I drowned my D200, leaving me with just the D7000.  While I'm not a Pro, I'm not comfortable having just one camera.  I had visions (delusions??) of getting a FX.  Looked at the D700 and D3 on ebay was affordable...  I was talking with my local wildlife mentor and he offered me a D4 at an amazing deal...  Still more than I could afford.  He then offered a D7100 with less than 200 actuations.  Again at a good deal, so to save my marriage and not go so deep in debt I opted for the D7100.  While waiting for my friend to show up I got some pictures of ducks.  I went back with the new camera and got some more.

Not a real comparison as the lighting and distance to subject wasn't consistent.

I had upgraded my computer to 16GB because loading the pictures in LR was taking a lot of time.  Well...  the 24.2 mp is slowing me back down.  I need to review LR and look for some performance tips.

The battery grip in not interchangeable to the 7100 so I will be picking one up as I like the extra bulk and of course power.

Dennis, #4 is a Hooded Merganser.  Kind of an easily spooked bird, not quite as bad as the Wood Duck, almost as pretty.

Ron, yes ICE...  There was a light skim on the water this morning as well.  While I was getting these a chunk floated down stream like a mini-iceberg.

The Woodies kept hanging tight to the bank and were tough to get clear shots.  That said I have almost 200 images from this morning.

The D7100 with the Tamron 150-600 make a great team.  Pictures of the quality I have been posting end up on the "cutting room floor"  The images I post are so much better.  I still have a bunch of weak images, but I'm learning how to handle the combo better and the percentage is going up.
