I'll readily admit that Otters are part of the ecosystem, but many West Coast boat owners view them as a nuisance. They like secured spaces, and an unsecured boat interior will do nicely. What a mess for the owner!
When we had our boat at Reed Point Marina, there was one Otter that liked to hang around our dock year round. To make things interesting, he had a bit of "attitude", and wasn't particularly afraid of dogs. That meant: 1) always making sure that he hadn't got inside the boat; 2) taking care, to avoid stepping in Otter poop; and 3) stopping the dog from trying to roll around in #2.
Despite all of that, that video was fun to watch.
