I missed this as well, how did that happen??
If I can offer a piece of advice (and I am just learning....), you need another flash, both units off camera. It would help kill the shadows and light your subjects up more evenly.
I am like Jim, don't think I will ever do weddings! Way too much on the line and too much pressure!
Advice note, I'm not a wedding photographer though. At the end of the day I don't do them but I wound up taking this as a job because the people that got remarried asked for like 3 months. I finally broke down and agreed as long at I could shoot the event in a casual manner (I decided what was important). I never had done a wedding prior to this so I was really concerned with color shifting. As a matter of fact I went to the wedding with 2(two) Nikon D2Xs packed for the job, so I was majorly apprehensive about what would happen.
The bride was like 4 hours late because the hairstylist was from out of sate and had a transportation snafu. So initially what was suppose to be a daylight wedding wound up as a night time adventure....lol I had to adapt to the fact that the sun was going to sleep, and that my SB 800 was about to replace it. The last photo I snapped was around 10:30 pm, I learned quite a but since normally I use the 800 as a fill light to tone down shadows.
Most times I shoot sports and commercial/industrial. This year its was almost all sports for several organizations as well as being picked up as team photographer for a high school girls program.
If I had a choice I would have to shoot lighting off camera axis, but I chalk that up to shoulda, coulda, woulda now! I'm pretty sure I have had my one and only share of weddings...hahahaha!!
Thanks much for the advice..
