B&W IR effect with Tiffen 10 stop ND.

ND filter D40 IR infrared

The ultra cheap Tiffen 10 stop ND lets alot of infrared light in and it's the worst on the D40. So I did an experiment to see if I could shoot some images, convert them to B&W, and get a IR effect to some degree. Look slike it worked . The green foliage turned almost white and the blue sky went dark. Here are a few.

Interesting approach Bill. I have used some filters that did the same thing at varying focal  lengths. It can be maddening.

The other Tiffens are probably better. Mine is the cheapest one. Here's a picture of the one I have. The better ones have IR absorption.
