OK, because you "went there", I'll go a little further.  One of Darrell's posts referenced a new FB site that he's setting up.  Also, is he still involved with that Digital Enthusiasts group?  Perhaps he's afraid that PN would be competition for both groups?  Just wondering.  That's the only way that I can explain not stepping aside, to let someone with more enthusiasm run PN.

I would love to be proved wrong on this.

I am not sure there would be a competition per-say. His sites are typically enthusiasts that purchase his books. People also flit about here and there today anyway, there is no such thing in my opinion with "One Forum Only" loyalty.  I would find it hard to believe that is the basis, but you never know.

My primary concern is the database.

I tried to collect my posts and have found it next to impossible to find the ones I want in an organized fashion, much less figure out a way to collect them.

Even any images are hard to collect in a simple and easy way.

As for stepping aside, he was never here in the majority of the years that I was here so I find it hard to believe he has some attachment and if he did you would think he would like to see it continue even if he isn't involved.

Art, I would be very interesting in learning what you eventually find out.

I was always happy to contribute towards the operation of PN, and I would be happy to help keep it running if the cost isn't ridiculous.  If we REALLY like PN, this would be our chance to REALLY show it.  ;)

I haven't posted any images since we learned about PN's likely demise a couple of years ago.  I guess I figured "...what's the point..."?  I have a hunch that I'm not the only one who feels this way.  If we can migrate PN to a new platform, I'd be happy to start sharing again.  I haven't stopped shooting!  B)

I called.  I spoke to a Rep there.  He took down the information and checked out our site.  He compared it to the site I referenced that was running our old software.

He passed the information on to his manager and promised someone would get back to me early next week.

As so as I know, I will be happy to update you.

I do not believe the issue here will be COST!

I think there is a deeper rooted ISSUE here as to why this site was SABOTAGED to die on the vine in spite of our efforts to save it. This isn't our first attempt to try and SAVE PN!

It wasn't us who LOCKED DOWN MEMBERSHIP so no new people could join.

I will find out the cost just to dispel any BS that this site could not be ported and saved.  After that, it is not up to me.

Well, I am really PISSED PN is closing at the end of the month.

Jim and I have tried on more than an few occasion to keep this place going.

I frequent a site for SLOT CARS and they use the SAME SOFTWARE and guess what????

They managed to PORT to a newer version HISTORY and all.

THE HISTORY is what is important to me and that was what I was trying to SAVE.

Many of us have POURED 100's of hours into making this site a good site over the years.  It has a wealth of information I hate to see disappear.

I have found a company in Toronto that can do the transfer to a different server and more modern software that is IDENTICAL to what is used here!

SO, why are we shutting down?
Why was membership blocked 3 years ago!
THIS was the single biggest reason PN has died on the vine.  Most of that time, I had no idea and kept recruiting people to join!
THANKS! Love that wasted effort.

I busted my arse to do a magazine to promote us ... that was a complete waste of my time and money because the MAIN PLAYER wasn't PLAYING!!! But the best part is, we kept dancing the dance and there was no purpose as there clearly was no future intended!!!!!!

This is a LOT OF BS I am not at all HAPPY with.  I hate to end this ANGRY, but I am really pissed!

Darrell, my finger here is pointing at you!

I would have preferred to end this on a happy note, but I am far from it. I have REVIEWS here, a mountain of images, posts I spent hours creating etc.

A few of us would easily take this on and carry forward with it at our expense. And yet, BRICK WALL. Why was it better to SHUT IT ALL DOWN?

ONE MONTH to try and collect this stuff.......   REALLY!

I would like some answers please.

Very cool, will give it a listen. I jumped on board of the Floyd bandwagon with DSotM and played the grooves off The Wall. But lost interest after than. They were a little too progressive/psychedelic for my tastes and as they drifted more in the direction, the less interest I had.

That is so impressive, Herman!

I love the 747 you posted for Mark.

Take it from the Edmonton Airport and do a fly by over Toronto! ;)

Do a circuit around the CN Tower in downtown Toronto. This is a very impressive program!
