I don't know if this info is available somewhere else on this site, but I found a very useful resource. I buy many old ai and ais lenses online and often they come without a lens hood. In the past, I had to research to find what lens hood goes with the lens then I found this great resource. This is a list of many old and new lenses and what lens hood goes with each lens.

nice. 

in the old days hoods were usually an accessory, sold separate from the lenses, which is why there appears to be way more lenses than hoods out there.
