The flight with an Aeroflot A319 takes us from Nurnberg (EDDN), Germany to Moscow, Sheremetyevo Airport (UUEE), Russia.
A reasonably smooth flight with considerable cloud cover.
Flight time: 2 hours, 47 minutes
Our flightplan

Ready for departure at Nurnberg Airport

We are instructed to taxi to runway 28 (280 degrees) for take-off

Taxiing along snow-covered airport grounds

The Control Tower advises that we can enter runway 28

With engines screaming, we race down the runway and reaching our rotational speed, we head for the skies above

Climbing into the skies over snow-covered landscape

Above the clouds

Having reached our cruising altitude of 35,000ft (FL350), it's time for... you guessed it, a coffee break!

Eventually over White Russian territory

Upon getting near to our destination, we are required to make a number of turns in accordance with Standard Terminal Arrival (STAR) procedures

Cockpit view from 8,000ft (FL80)

External view

As we further descend, we line up for our approach. We can faintly make out the airport runways in the distance

We are assigned to land on runway 06R (60 degrees, right-hand side)... our landing gear is lowered and flaps are fully extended

On the approach

Having landed at Moscow's Sheremtyevo Airport, we make our way to our assigned terminal

Whilst parked at our gate, it starts snowing

Hope you brought your fur coat as the outside temperature is minus 13deg.C
Thanks for looking & I hope you enjoyed the ride.

Another good series, Herman.
However, I see that the First Officer is still missing. Given Aeroflot's record, over the years, this time he was probably passed out in the washroom.

Digital: D610 backed up by a D1x. Quoted from an unknown source by a fellow planeteer, "Never get rid of a working D1x." I've got to agree.
Film: N90s, F3, F100, F4s, C330s. A few lenses.
Why film photography? I like shooting with the equipment. 6x6 Velvia slides from a C330 have an appeal all their own.
Why automated 35mm/Digital cameras? Event photography is about capturing moments. It often requires quick response. Well done automaton can be your friend or your enemy. It all depends on knowing what it can and can't do. "A man's got to know his (camera's) limitations." paraphrasing Dirty Harry...

Heading North
The flight today was with a scheduled Air Canada A321 flight from San Fransisco to Vancouver.
Flight time is 2 hours, 4 minutes. Conditions calm with scattered clouds.
Our flightplan
Our aircraft parked at Gate F88 with refueling in progress
Pushback from the terminal. Our assigned runway is 28L (280 deg. left)
Starting our ascent into the skies above. We are initially advised to climb to 5,000ft (FL50)
Downtown San Fransisco on our right.
Passing over San Fransisco Bay with the airport in the background from which we had departed
Heading north
We continue our climb which at the moment has been set to 32,000ft (FL320)
Our aircraft at a cruising altitude of 38,000ft (FL380)
Views from the cockpit
Flying past volcanoe territory
Directly over the city of Eugene, Oregon
Approaching the Canadian border
Closing in on Vancouver. We are advised to descend to 4,500ft (FL45) and thereafter to 3000ft (FL30)
A sharp turn to the right so as to line up for the approach. Our assigned runway is 08L (8 deg. left)
Our runway in sight
Landing on the assigned runway... welcome to Vancouver!
We head towards the terminal building
Heading towards our parking spot at Gate 75
Happy passengers leave our aircraft and cargo is being off-loaded
Hope you enjoyed the flight.
Now I wonder if Mark is at home for a cuppa... afterall he's only a +/-37km drive from the airport!

Hi Herman,
I'm enjoying my morning coffee while I read this.
Having flown that route (on Rouge, an Air Canada subsidiary), I can say that I'm very impressed with the realism. One small detail: Air Canada FO's don't cower in the washroom - they read the hockey scores from the night before!

Kelowna here we come!
I thought, whilst being in Canada, why not do a short domestic flight from Vancouver to Kelowna (also in BC Province).
Unfortunately, conditions were very cloudy which resulted in me flying much lower so as to provide some views at the very least.
Flight time was just under an hour due to the slight detour from the pre-defined flightpath.
Our flightplan
Ready for departure from gate C1, Vancouver International Airport
During our pushback sequence, both engines roar to life
Looking down on Vancouver suburbs during our initial assigned climb to 5,000ft (FL50)
At this stage we continue our gradual climb to our cruising altitude of 25,000ft (FL250)
Some time after flying at 25,000ft (FL250), I decided to start an early descent so as to try and get some views of the landscape below
We eventually get to the Okanagan Lake where Kelowna is situated on the eastern shore
We follow the lake in a southerly direction until we are in the Okanagan Valley and then having flown past our airport we do a 180 degree turn
On our approach to runway 34 (34 deg.) A little too low and battling the forces of nature
Our landing at Kelowna International Airport
A long backtrack to our terminal. Kelowna accommodates many smaller aircraft
A Marshall greets us at our terminal gate
Passengers disembark from our aircraft via the jetway
Baggage & cargo in the process of being off-loaded
Welcome to Kelowna.. now let's go skiing!
Hope you enjoyed the flight.

Nice flight, Herman, but snow in Vancouver? That must have been the one day in January 2020 when it did snow!
As for Kelowna, while Big White Ski Resort is close to town, Kelowna is more of a summer resort town. If you ever get a chance to visit, the local vineyards have an international reputation and are well worth visiting.

The weather environmental programs used are, however, offering "near realtime" weather conditions which in my case is updated every 5 minutes.
Mark, at least you have the option to throw "virtual" snowballs whilst snow is shown for the Vancouver area! 😁

Just 3 random images this time from my flight yesterday departing with an Emirates A330-300 series aircraft from Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion Airport...
Was more of a test flight due to a recent update applied to this aircraft series.
Enjoy your weekend.
Herman
Three more...
This one shows Ben Gurion Airport that we have taken off from and downtown Tel Aviv on the horizon

A short flight from Stockholm, Arlanda Airport en-route to Kiruna in northern Sweden.
All checklists and flightplan settings had been inserted so as to shorten the video.
It starts at the time of pushback from Gate 10. Unfortunately, my PC encountered a CTD just into approximately 32 minutes of flight.
Thought I'd share it anyway s I haven'tbeen posting much lately... I intend to repeat the full flight at another time.
Thanks for looking.

I flew to and via Zurich several times. Experienced the most turbulant flight ever on an approach into Zurich with a SWISS Bae146 but... got my feet back safely on the ground!
