Yesterday I went for a walk in my grandmothers neighborhood. On the sidewalk to the street that runs behind the shopping center some kid must have wrote his name and date the day the concrete was poured before it dried. It says Moses 11-16-71.That was about a year before I was born. I remember seeing this as a kid in the 80s. We used to ride our bikes down that sidewalk often. The 2nd picture reveals that someone rode a bicycle across the semi dry concrete that day. It brings back really old memories. I wonder if Moses is still alive. If so, he's probably about 60 years old today. I wonder if he still lives in Houston. I used the old Olympus P&S I recently got.

Nothing like something that brings you back to your childhood! I wonder if Moses knows his work is still visible 46 years later. :D He could be my age I was in 2nd grade in 71! :D

Digital: D610 backed up by a D1x.  Quoted from an unknown source by a fellow planeteer, "Never get rid of a working D1x." I've got to agree.

Film: N90s, F3, F100, F4s, C330s. A few lenses.

Why film photography? I like shooting with the equipment. 6x6 Velvia slides from a C330 have an appeal all their own.

Why automated 35mm/Digital cameras? Event photography is about capturing moments. It often requires quick response. Well done automaton can be your friend or your enemy. It all depends on knowing what it can and can't do. "A man's got to know his (camera's) limitations." paraphrasing Dirty Harry...

It seems there are many PNers who are older. That picture kinda makes me sad because the 70s and 80s are gone and can never come back. I was born in 72 but wish I was born in the mid to late 50s so I would have been old enough to enjoy those 2 decades.
