I recently I got a good deal on a Nikon F5 and ran a couple of rolls thru it. These are from my first roll. Scanned with an Epson 3170 scanner. So excited to try this baby out, I took pics of almost any subject! :D Traveling at about 125 Mph, handheld with the 70-300mm VR f5a.jpg Junk people left in my cabin....  f5.jpg Heidelberg is the city of bikes. They are everywhere and many are not secured...Take your pick! f5b.jpg

Jazz, what do you think of the handling of the F5 as compared to your other cameras? How long did it take you to get down the basics of its metering?

Sweet!!!!!!! Feels like butter!!!! I love it..

Sitting here at work with it on my desktop....Oh got carried away!!  Sorry..

Hi Tony, I found it not so difficult as I studied the manual before taking my first shots. Lately, I am only using my film cameras, EM, F4 and Mamiya M645 for my photography and with the spinnng of knobs and looking at different controls I think I ma grasping it.

Trying to get back to the basics..taking or finishing up a darkroom class I started six months ago.

As for metering, I just let the F5 do its magic...and what magic it does. Still a lil confused on the different modes as I use AF and manual focus lens.

Will keep you posted on my endeavors..
;)

The F5 is an awesome camera, i must have shot more then a thousand rolls with my F5. F5 is my favourite AF film camera ever built. You gotta love the sound of 8fps dragging film through the camera:)
