Just witnessed an emergency helicopter land on a football field just across from our apartment...

 

There had been a match going on so something serious must have happened to one of the players. Images taken from our apartment balcony.

In BC air medevac doesn't get called unless someone is in life threatening condition.

Thanks guys. No idea what had happened but they weren't on the ground for long.

 

Besides the emergency response, I'm always challenged in trying to get the ultimate motion effect of helicopter rotors.

 

Normally I would apply 1/125s but in this case it was 1/100s. Looking at the images, I guess I should have applied 1/80s or less.

 

Never a dull moment...

OR... you could have jacked-up the shutter speed and STOP the rotors. Don't do it. 8-)
