The Grebes at Humber Bay East Park have not been fairing to well as of yet, with the nesting process.

New nests have been established again, but I saw no eggs today.

It has been an early, but rough Spring on the Lake.

Thanks, Jim.

In the past, they get away with two nesting cycles.  This year.... well, maybe one.  I am hoping at least one successful nest.  It is a pleasure to watch the comings and goings.  These are really special birds.

Thanks, Dennis, Ron and Jason.

Ron,

Of course!! :) It is by far one of my favourite lens!

Jason,

Grebe nests are a mess. I really doubt we will see chicks on this pass!

That's unfortunate. Apparently both nests have eggs now but only time will tell if they'll make it to hatching.

They main nest is empty and looks abandoned.

The one close to the walkway has what I think is one, but I don't think it is incubating properly and I doubt it will hatch.

There's also the one by the old beaver lodge and another in the TRCA pond/bay area just north of there. Probably have better luck with the platforms at Sam Smith...

Never checked those due to water level. Too high, ground soggy.
