I slapped on the 1.4 TC just to see.  Typically, this TC ever so slightly softens an image.

On my Mac Retina, it does, in fact just ever so slightly soften, but absolutely ever so slightly.

I do what I typically do in PP.... after I download....

Go to Capture NX-D

Sharpen

Save

Then in PS, crop

This is saved at 1200px just like the others.

Have a look, this is very impressive!!

Looks good. I think you probably only need a small amount of fine tuning to make the 1. and 300 PF sharp together. But, this looks good.

Thanks, Dennis.

"Tree Rat"?  That's a new one to me.  :D

I find Red Squirrels to be a novelty.  In Metro Vancouver, they come in 2 colours:  Gray and Black.  :)

Wow, very impressive. That lens combo beats my 200-500. I posted some of my squirrel shots and for half the price the 200-500 will have to do. Love the contrast and colors.

Thanks, everyone.

I will have to try and test the glass on people, Sunday, if I can get willing victims.

These sample squirrel shots are taken, in my opinion, in perfect light.

Have to try some other shots just to see.

Don’t have much time with it, has to go back Monday!
