Spent about 1½ hours this afternoon shooting this absolutely STUNNING building.  Originally the city's library (built in 1900), it was sold to the World Food Prize organization who restored it to it's original glory.  It also gave me a chance to really give my Siggy 12-24 a workout.

Here's the first of several keepers:

To get a real sense of how absolutely gorgeous this structure is, I took a couple of VR panos, which can be seen here:

Main Level:  http://pan0.net/upan...=7594#pano_self
Upper Level:  http://pan0.net/upan...=7593#pano_self

Be sure to click on the "Fullscreen" option at the top!

Don't mind me..... I'm just out roaming around between Zone II and Zone IX.

It's done by using a Sigma 8mm circular fisheye, taking 12-14 frames.  8 at 45° intervals around a nodal point, then one zenith (straight up) shot and 3-5 nadir (straight down) shots.  You need several nadir shots because the camera is still at eye level, but you get your legs in it because you're using a fisheye.

Then special software is used to 'stitch' them together to create the final image.  In my case, I use Kolor AutoPano 3.6.

Mostly, I have issues with my legs still ending up in the finished image so I must delete a frame or two before the software finally removes them.  I upload them to pan0.net so you can see the 180x360° VR results.  You can also download viewers to your desktop and view them offline directly from your file manager.
