I like messing with the 20mm and turning it into a real closeup lens with the addition of a K1 ring.

It looks like a fun combination! ;) The colours in the first image are stunning and the patterns in the central area are really interesting to look at.

Thanks for the comments. I've given up on finding moire. I'm sure it will happen one of these days when I really don't want it but I'm sure not worried about it anymore.

I know it's late to respond to this thread, but I just saw it. Nice shot. I have the K1 and it's good for getting those wide angles to focus a little closer without offering too much extension. It's one of the few pre AI accessories that can safely be mounted on AI and newer bodies.

I was going to try my 20mm with the K1. But it wouldn't mount. I remembered that you can't mount a CPU lens to it because the contacts hit the K1. Maybe I'll get the Dremel tool and hack it up. I've got 2 K1's, so if I mess up one there's a backup.

I don't know why it won't mount. Mine mounts just fine. I did not modify the K1 ring..

Hey Arlon thanks for the tip. I don't know why, but I've tried to mount a CPU lens on the K1 and it didn't want to go. I tried the 20 tonight and it went. You just have to push it a little. Looks like the spring loaded CPU contacts touch and get pushed in, but the lens should be OK. Which 20 do you have?

It works. Looks like you get between 1/3 and 1/2 lifesize with the lens at min focus distance(and some barrel distortion even on a DX body). But the working distance is about 2 inches, almost nothing.

It's the perspective this lens gives to flowers that I like the most. Perspective and lot of depth of field compared to a something like a 100 macro lens.
