Today while in the Home Depot parking lot I found a '76 or '77 Ford pickup. I always wanted a '73-'79 but never got one. My phone takes awful pictures!

Today's vehicles are so complicated there's a million things that can go wrong with them. And it costs a million dollars to have them fixed. Makes me want to get a 1970s vehicle and drive it as long as parts are available. They had everything I need-A/C, power steering, and power brakes. I don't need automatic transmission, power windows, navigation system, anti lock brakes.......And did I mention you can deck out an older vehicle with a killer stereo system. On most modern vehicles the radio is integrated into the dash and you can't change it. I'm lucky with my '06 Grand Marquis-it accepts a standard DIN size stereo with an installation kit.

Give me a Euro NCAP five star rating, European driving dynamics, a modern efficient engine and a fully integrated AirPlay compatible infotainment system any day 😬

What is NCAP?

Euro NCAP is a voluntary vehicle safety rating system which originated in the UK. They publish safety reports on new cars, and awards 'star ratings' based on the performance of the vehicles in a variety of crash tests, including front, side and pole impacts, and impacts with pedestrians. The top overall rating is five stars.

No way I'd have a (family) car that doesn't have a full five stars for passenger safety.

That's a '76.  The "F150" badge on the '77 moved above the trim line, to the cowl.

Best,

Dennis
