Thought it would be a good idea to read the book before buying the software and see if l like it or get something else. Mainly looking to upgrade my Elements 11 because it doesn't support RAW files from newer cameras such as my D7100. l want to get familiar with RAW and start using it. Maybe l can shoot RAW+JPEG and use a RAW file when a JPEG can't be be processed enough. With what little experience l do have with RAW, it seems that post processing takes longer than with JPEG because there's more that needs to be done.

Bill, I agree with Jim. The Dummies books are always a very good start.
I agree with you, that RAW files require more post-processing than JPEG. That's because a RAW file is like an old-fashioned negative: it's up to you to provide the finishing touches.
